Shark Anti Hair Wrap

Shark anti hair wrap technology is a newly designed brush roller fitted into the floorhead of some of the vacuum cleaners in their range that stops hair from becoming tangled. A comb has been added that removes hair as the brush spins leaving it completely hair free.

Hoovering your home on a regular basis is a job that needs to be done but it’s no one’s favourite job and you just want it out of the way and as pain-free as possible.

One of the most annoying things about vacuuming your home is the maintenance of the hoover itself. As if it wasn’t annoying enough that you have to get the hoover out once or twice a week and give everything a good clean you need to make sure that you look after it or things can start to go wrong pretty quickly especially in busy households where you put it through its paces and test it out to the max.

You need to keep the filter clean and empty the waste container often and give it a clean from time to time or you will start to find that it doesn’t pick up as well but even when you do that you sometimes feel that the performance is dropping and the suction isn’t quite as strong and you don’t know why.

So you turn the hoover on its side and look underneath the floorhead and see that the brush that spins round to help suck up the dirt into the hoover is thick with hair.

First of all, you have to try and remember how to get the brush out to make it easier to get to the hair and then you spend the next 20 minutes with a pair of scissors trying to cut through the hair without damaging the brush.

It’s also pretty disgusting and unhygienic to have to pull out all the pet and human hair and all the other dirt that is tangled up in the brush.

Not only that but without even realising it your hoover has been operating at below maximum performance for some time because the more the hair builds up on the brush the less suction you get and less effective the brush is at digging into your carpet to get the hair out.

It’s been that way ever since vacuum cleaners have been around and it hard to believe that we have sent people to the moon but we can’t produce a vacuum cleaner that doesn’t stop hair getting tangled up in the brush.

As one of the leading vacuum cleaner manufacturers in the world. Shark decided they should probably do something about that and so they have developed a new brush that cleans the brush roller as it spins.

It’s actually pretty simple and the good news is that it’s a pretty low-cost addition that doesn’t add very much at all to the price but you get a huge benefit from it.

How does Shark anti hair wrap work?

Shark have fitted a piece of plastic to the inside of the floorhead that has groves that remove any hair from the brush roller and literally combs it out of the roller as it spins around.

Here is a short video that shows it in action:

Is Shark anti hair wrap any good?

Things like this tend to be a gimmick a lot of the time and don’t really do the job they are supposed to.

How can something so simple be so beneficial and useful and not even cost that much to integrate into your vacuum cleaner?

This seems to be one of those things that no one has ever been bothered to think about but now Shark have and it works. Really well.

In vacuum cleaners without this anti hair wrap technology hair always gets wrapped around the brush and you have to spend ages cutting it out but now in the same house with the same pets and the same long human hair, nothing.

As the brush spins, the plastic comb removes any hair that is thinking about wrapping itself around the brush and scoops it up into the waste container.

Is the Shark anti hair wrap cordless?

Shark has always been brilliant at producing vacuum cleaners for all types of different homes and settings and their range of vacuum cleaners with anti-hair wrap technology is no exception.

Whether you live in a one-bedroom flat or a large six-bedroom home there is a Shark vacuum that will accommodate your needs.

Unlike Dyson who focus on the very premium end of the market with super expensive hoovers that are no good for smaller homes or anyone that lives in a flat Shark have created a large range of vacuum cleaners that have been carefully made with different features to accommodate different people’s needs.

The anti-hair wrap technology is available on some of their cordless vacuums as well as other corded vacuums in the range.

If you are sick and tired of hair getting stuck in the brush roller on your vacuum cleaner then any of Sharks anti-hair wrap hoovers will eliminate the inconvenience of dealing with it.

It will also keep your hoover performing at its best because the suction will not be hindered by a brush roller clogged up with hair.

These are the best Shark vacuum cleaners with anti-hair wrap technology:

Shark NZ801UK Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner

When you compare the price of these Shark vacuum cleaners and compare them to Dyson you can see how much value for money you get with Shark.

In many cases, their vacuum cleaners are hundreds of pounds cheaper and now that they come with anti hair wrap technology as well it just makes them even better value for money than they were before.

In our view, the very best value lies in Sharks corded range of hoovers with anti hair wrap and the NZ801UK is both corded and has anti hair wrap.

Shark’s corded vacuum cleaners are a lot cheaper than the cordless equivalent because there is no battery. Batteries are very expensive and so when you take that out of the equation you get the same level of performance in terms of suction power but you pay less.

The trade-off is that you do need to plug it into the wall but this one comes with an 8 metre cord so you won’t find yourself having to change the plug socket very often and you’ll never need to worry about the battery running out.

Suction is exceptional, producing a high-quality clean, equivalent to what you would expect from a far more expensive Dyson and it comes with a “DuoClean” floorhead that has both a soft roller and a hard brush so you can seamlessly move from hard floor to carpet with the press of one button on the handle.

It also comes with powered lift away that allows you to remove the main central unit from the main body of the hoover making it super easy to do the stairs and other areas that would be hard to reach in standard upright mode.

This video shows how powered lift away works:

This is available with or without a motorised pet tool so you don’t have to spend the money on the pet accessory if you don’t have any cats or dogs.

Does anti hair wrap work on long hair?

It is very effective on all hair lengths regardless of whether it is long or short or pet hair or human hair.

We have tested it on varying amounts of hair, long and short and no hair gets tangled.

We have a dog and a cat and 3 females in the house and we previously had to deal with hair wrapped around the brush roller on any hoover we have ever had and the Shark just deals with it with ease.

Is Shark Cordless better than Corded?

Shark cordless vacuum cleaners are brilliant for convenience and they also come with very strong suction similar in performance to their best corded hoovers.

But for the convenience you have to pay a premium compared to their corded hoovers because the batteries that power them are expensive and they also only last for about 25 minutes on full power.

So if its convenience you are looking for and you don’t mind paying a bit extra and you can get the hoovering done in about 25 minutes then cordless is a good option.

On the other hand, if you want to get the most for your money and you don’t mind plugging your hoover into the wall then an equivalent corded vacuum cleaner from Shark will cost less than a cordless but it will do as good a job and you also never need to worry about the battery running out.

A cordless hoover from Shark is neither better nor worse than a corded one, it just depends if you are willing to trade the convenience of cordless to save money on a corded one.
